Aim:
To enhance thesis writing by

• improving search skills both in bibliographic databases and internet sources in veterinary science,
• presenting various types of documents, and
• offering information about scientific writing, publishing and making references.

Conditions:

• 8 times 2 hours' practicals
• Participation compulsory.
• Those missing more than 1 occasion will have to do the search tasks due at the practical!

Practical 1.
• The evolution of publishing, and the emergence of databases. Types of documents and their characteristic features
• Databases in the veterinary science library

Pratical 2.
• The steps of search
• Practice boolean logic

Pratical 3.
• An excellent Tutorial summarizing the most important points of the use of internet to find veterinary sources can be opened from this website
• Another tutorial from the UC Berkeley on Finding Information on the Internet!
