Lajos Mitterpacher (1734-1814), Jesuit abbot, first professor of agriculture in the University of Buda in Hungary. His work of great importance, entitled "Elementa rei rusticae in usum academiarum regni Hungariae conscripta, Budae 1779-1794" was written in Latin in three volumes with a part on veterinary science. He and Sándor Tolnay intervened for the saving of the Department for Veterinary Science existing in Pest in 1796. |
