On the 12th of September, 1980, on the golden jubilee of the Central Veterinary Institute, the memory of Rezső Manninger, founder and director, was immortalized by a memorial tablet and relief in the new building’s foyer, to the left of the entrance.
In the course of institute’s hall rearrangement finished on the 25th of November, 1996, an inscription was placed in the middle with bronze letters: "National Institute for Animal Health 1928", to the left the founder members’ names (Árpád Marcis, József Csontos, Gyula Sályi, István Nyiredi, József Hódosi and László Vizy), to the right places of the regional institutes and the year of their establishment (Debrecen, 1949; Kaposvár, 1951; Békéscsaba, 1953; Miskolc, 1955; Szombathely, 1971)can be read. The memorial tablet and the relief inaugurated in 1980 was transferred here to the centre, underneath a new bronze tablet was placed with a citation of professor’s Manninger inauguration speech: "It must be taken care of that the men working at the Institute should have the chance to deal with scientific research and should actually do so beside their daily routine of laboratory work, for only those specialist can make really valuable work while performing their duties at the station who not only keep up with the development of their discipline, but also participate actively in its advancement." by Manninger 1929.
