József Marek (1868-1952) was a veterinary doctor, PhD, ordinary and honorary member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, head of the Department and Clinic of Internal Medicine from 1901 to 1935.
The bronze bust of József Marek can be seen under the arcade of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Under the bust was stated up in the arcade on the 17th of August, 1978 with a marble tablet with the inscription (in Hungarian): József Marek (1868-1952), expert of veterinary clinical diagnostics, his investigations laid new foundations for universal veterinary science. The inauguration speech was held by Gábor Soós, secretary of state. (MMJ)
