Béla Nádaskay (1848-1931) veterinary and medical doctor,head of the Department of Anatomy (1886-1909), lecturer in obstetrics and reproduction biology (1882-1891), first editor and redactor of “Veterinarius”,the predecessor of the Journal of the Hungarian Veterinarians, (1878-1882), honorary and founding member of the Hungarian National Veterinary Association, its secretary and president for many years.
On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the birth of Professor Nádaskay, the Hungarian National Veterinary Association had the professor’s portrait painted with his glasses in his hands, sitting in an armchair, wearing the Order of the Francis Joseph and the third-class Order of the Iron Crown on his chest by Rezső Burghardt. The painting can be found in the reading room of the Veterinary Science Library. (MMJ)
