Béla Nádaskay (1848-1931) veterinary and medical doctor,head of the Department of Anatomy (1886-1909), lecturer in obstetrics and reproduction biology (1882-1891), first editor and redactor of “Veterinarius”,the predecessor of the Journal of the Hungarian Veterinarians, (1878-1882), honorary and founding member of the Hungarian National Veterinary Association, its secretary and president for many years.
The Nádaskay Memorial Board expanded the remainder from the donations to raise a tomb on a bust. The statue was made by József Dankó, and was placed in front of the Institute of Anatomy. The ceremonial unveiling of the bronze bust took place after the general assembly of the Hungarian National Veterinary Association. On the occasion of the statue’s unveiling Ágoston Zimmermann, head of the Department of Anatomy, appreciated the merits of Béla Nádaskay.(MMJ)
